Sussex Stakes Continues Low Value Trend For Goodwood

The battle between Frankel and Canford Cliffs on Wednesday may well end up being one of the best viewing spectacles of the flat racing season for 2011 but from a betting point of view it is not a great betting race.

For the 3.10 at Goodwood on Wednesday I have my market rated as follows.

Goodwood 3.10 1m 170K G1 3yo+ par6.00
No1 Canford Cliffs 2.40
No2 Rajsaman 12.30
No3 Rio De La Plata 36.00
No4 Frankel 2.10

Ive got Frankel on top at 2.10 but on the exchanges it is being bet at unders of 1.77, too short for my liking. Canford Cliffs I've got marked up at 2.40, it trades at that price but I think Frankel has its measure so no value backing the 2nd elect in the market. From a win betting perspective steer clear of this race.

Place betting, same same, no point playing.

Lay betting, same same, no advantage, no point playing.

Surely the quality of bets will improve for the Goodwood carnival as I get through more events there.

Plenty more to be added for Wednesday and dont forget there is 5 races for Australia on Wednesday listed further down that offer up some good value I will cover in more detail with further posts after scratchings for Wednesday are announced.

Good luck and happy punting.
